Title and loading screens

Animated loading screens, a living 3D world behind login and character select, and the new four-step character creation.

On Orelia you are in the middle of Madrigal before you even enter the world: instead of a static wallpaper, the camera flies through a real map, your characters stand in the world, and loading screens show how far along the game really is.

Loading screens

  • Animateda map picture with a slow zoom, rising specks of light and a glowing progress bar
  • Honest progressthe bar follows the real loading steps and never jumps back
  • Smooth transitionat the end the screen fades gently into the login or the world
  • No staring at nothingthe screen stays until your character has really arrived (“Waiting for the server”)

Things are faster elsewhere too: from the second launch on, the game starts much more quickly, teleports no longer include an artificial one-second wait, and character select no longer freezes when you first enter the world. Figures, items and objects no longer pop into view – they fade in briefly.

The live login scene

Behind the login, server list, character select and character creation, the game renders a real map of Madrigal with all effects: light, shadows, wind, water, sky and weather. You will not see other players there.

  • Login – the camera glides slowly through the world while the login window floats on top.
  • Server list – the camera swings to a new view without reloading.

Character select

Up to three characters stand in the world wearing their equipment. Each has a plate with name, level and job above it and a ring on the ground.

  • Select – click a character; the selected one steps forward and gets a golden ring.
  • Look around – the camera stands centred in front of them and the background goes soft. Drag with the mouse to turn them, use the wheel to zoom.
  • Start – the camera moves in while you connect to the server.

An empty spot shows “Empty slot”.

Character creation

Creation guides you through four steps. On the left you see a summary of your choices, including a preview of your pet.

  1. Appearance – sex, face, hairstyle, hair colour via colour sliders and 10 presets.
  2. Outfit – your starter gear from five lists.
  3. Job – one of eight jobs, with a card showing role and description.
  4. Name – character name and second password with confirmation.

At the bottom you control the camera: Face and Body zoom to the face or the whole body, < / > turn the character (hold to keep turning). On the first two steps, Randomise rolls a random look.

While you shape face and hair, clothing is hidden so a helmet or hat does not get in the way. Show outfit lets you toggle it yourself at any time. If something is still missing when you create, the window jumps straight to the right step.

Turning the live scene on or off

Use Display → Live login scene (in the launcher: Live-Login-Szene) to switch the 3D scene on or off – even right on the title screen. On the Very low and Low presets it is off. When it is off, or object detail is set to low, you see the classic wallpaper.
