Glyph slot

The old arrow slot in your inventory now holds a glyph that gives you extra bonuses for a limited time.

Your inventory’s equipment area has a slot that used to be for arrows. On Orelia it is the glyph slot: put a glyph there and it gives you extra stats for as long as its timer runs.

What is a glyph?

Glyphs are regular game items that also count as glyphs. The tooltip gives them away – it says “Glyph – equip it in the glyph slot” and also shows:

  • how long the glyph lasts (as long as it has never been equipped)
  • which levels and classes it is meant for
  • which bonuses it gives (up to six)

Hover over the empty slot and the tooltip reads “Glyph slot”.

Equipping a glyph

  1. Open your inventory – The glyph slot sits where the arrows used to go.
  2. Drag the glyph in – Drop it from your inventory onto the slot.
  3. Check the bonuses – The stats show up in your status window right away, and the tooltip now shows when the glyph runs out.

The glyph has to match your level and class, must not be expired and must be a single item – you cannot equip a stack of several glyphs. You can only wear one glyph at a time.

No more arrow slot

Bows do not need arrows on Orelia, so arrows can no longer go into this slot. If a character still has arrows equipped, they are taken off at login.

The timer

Glyphs only last a set time – minutes, hours or days, depending on the glyph.

  • The clock starts the first time you equip it.
  • Taking it off does not pause the timer. It keeps running while the glyph sits in your bag.
  • Logging out or changing channels does not matter – the glyph stays equipped.

When time is up

An expired glyph no longer gives any bonus. It may also crumble to dust and disappear. Keep a free inventory slot so the glyph can be taken off cleanly.

Where do glyphs come from?

Glyphs can drop from monsters. The chance is rolled on every kill for the player who finished the monster; depending on the glyph this only applies in certain areas or level ranges. If your inventory is full, the glyph arrives by mail.

Values can change

The team can rebalance glyph bonuses. An equipped glyph picks up the new values on its own – you do not have to do anything.
