Create an account, log in, pick your channel and play – all from the Launcher, which also keeps your game up to date.

The Launcher is your starting point for Orelia. You create your account here, log in, choose your channel and start the game. Along the way it downloads updates and checks your game files.

The Launcher’s labels are in German; the English meaning is given in brackets below.

What it looks like

The Launcher matches the server’s crest: sapphire-blue glass, glowing crystal accents, gold and silver-white. In the background, clouds drift past floating islands, and the largest one carries a castle with a waterfall.

  • Neuigkeiten (News) – a welcome and the latest news as cards. Click one for the full text.
  • Patchnoteswhat changed with the recent updates.
  • Einstellungen (Settings) – graphics, effects, audio, game and Launcher, without starting the game.
  • Bottom barserver status, update progress, channel picker, more menu and the gold SPIELEN (Play) button.

Creating an account and logging in

  1. New account – click Neues Konto (New account) in the accounts panel. The name uses lower-case letters and digits, is 4–16 characters long and starts with a letter. The e-mail address is optional.
  2. Choose a password – it must follow the password rules, see Account security.
  3. Log in – add existing accounts with + Hinzufügen (Add) and log in in the dialog.
  4. Play – select the account and press SPIELEN (or double-click the account).

The game then starts without its own login window and without a channel selection: you go straight to character select on the channel you picked.

If you like, the Launcher can remember your password – per account, and off by default. If you changed your password on the website, use Neu anmelden … (Log in again) in that account’s menu.

Choosing your channel

The channel picker KANAL sits to the left of the more menu. It lists every channel with a dot, its name, state and load. Only channels that are actually running are shown; full or closed channels cannot be selected. Liste aktualisieren (Refresh list) fetches the latest state. The Launcher remembers your channel per account.

If you start the game without the Launcher, the same channel list is in the game’s login window, with a Refresh button. Double-click a channel to log in straight away.

Channel full?

If your channel is not available when you log in, the game opens the login window with the channel list. Just pick another channel.

"Back" means logging out

Pressing Back in character select logs you out completely. To change channel, log in again – with your password or by starting again from the Launcher.

Several accounts and clients

The Launcher manages up to 20 accounts and shows a status for each: in game (with play time), logged in, password remembered, login needed and others.

  • Alle starten (Start all) launches every ticked account one after another. Accounts that still need a password are skipped with a message.
  • On each row you can bring a running game to the front (Fenster zeigen, Show window) or close it (Beenden, Quit).
  • The same account cannot run twice at once, and at most 8 clients can run at the same time.
  • All clients share the same game settings.

Updates

When it starts, the Launcher checks for an update and downloads it. The button shows the state: AKTUALISIEREN (Update), WIRD AKTUALISIERT (Updating, with a percentage), SPIELEN (Play), IM SPIEL (In game) or ERNEUT VERSUCHEN (Retry). Every file is checked before it is used.

The more menu next to SPIELEN offers:

  • check for updates
  • repair files
  • start without the Launcher login (using the game’s own login window)
  • open the game folder

Under Einstellungen › Launcher you choose optional packs such as HD and Ultra textures and decide what happens after the game starts (minimise, close or stay open).

Maintenance

When a server update is coming, you are told in game beforehand with a countdown. During maintenance no new logins are possible – afterwards the Launcher fetches the update for you.
